I first trained as a beauty therapist right here in Kent. Starting in a small salon, progressing to cruise liners and huge spa chains and then on to managing a team at a private members club. In all my roles there was always one constant. I love making people feel special. A bug that once caught only grew as I started to learn more hair and make-up skills on board a ship for all the Captains’ Dinner Dances. This enjoyment in others led me to teaching to allow me to share my skills. Gaining my teaching qualification is one of my greatest professional achievements and I am thrilled to be able to share it with anyone who wants it, however I missed the excitement of seeing other people at their happiest due to work that I had created, and this was where the idea for a multi-function space, in an area that I loved arrived. I now enjoy making people feel special for all those big milestones and for some of the happiest days of their lives…. all in one place. And I LOVE it! Prom, Birthdays’ and Baby Showers, although of course, my ultimate love is the Weddings. The dresses, the hair, the make-up and easing the stress of the bride. It is incredibly rewarding and I wouldn’t change it.
I first started my career studying make up for television and film at the London College of Fashion, later training as a beauty therapist. I have been fortunate enough to work all over the world first aboard a cruise ship and later as an international trainer for a cosmetic brand.
I have a passion for helping women feel their best and pride myself as someone who is able to listen carefully, understanding your needs and wants. I apply this fully when comes to either assisting you in finding your dream dress or together creating your perfect hair and make-up look for your special day.
I have been local to Hayes, Kent for many years, and even attended the local High School. I have always had a passion for creative make-up and went on to study Media Hair and Makeup Artistry at The Brushstroke Make-up School’ which is based in Shepperton Film Studios. During my first year on this exciting course, I was lucky enough to be spotted by Charlotte for my work, so when the opportunity arose to join the Charlotte Ware Designs team I was extremely excited and have been loving every minute. To be able to do something I have such a passion for, develop skills in such a unique environment and get to make others look and feel great is the perfect combination.
My favourite looks are the Glamorous Party looks, but making Brides feel fabulous on their special day is a real privilege.
From the age of 10 I would always tell everyone “when I am older, I am going to be a beautician”. This was my dream career for a long time until I realised, I wanted to do something a little more creative. After finishing school, I went off to do my foundation diploma in fine art, which I loved. This made me realise that it was the makeup side of beauty that I wanted to focus on as the face was my canvas!
I went on to study bridal and special occasion makeup at The London School of Beauty and Makeup. After completing my course 10 years ago I decided to focus on bridal makeup as this is where my passion lies. I absolutely love contributing to such an important day for people. Making people feel good about themselves and feel special. I love meeting new people and making them feel at ease and relaxed on the big day.
I also work for a media agency but have also always continued to develop my career in makeup. Being a makeup artist isn’t a job for me, it’s hobby and a passion.
